Mila 2025-26

Mila 2025-26

Ceramics student at the National Art School. Mila writes, "I had the most amazing time with Dan and Gabs at Bandicoot Pottery! My first-ever wood firing has got me hooked. Beautiful being in Cobargo; I learnt so much through the alternative firing and improving my throwing technique. Cannot wait to come back and visit!"

Foster a Potter Internship Siena completed a Foster a Potter placement with us from February to September 2025. "I am glad to have learnt from potters who value mutually supportive relationships and wish to share skills with younger generations. It's really nice to be home now, with some time to let the past year sink in! I haven't been making any pots at home, but a little studio setup isn't far off. It's been such a great feeling to see the skills I've learned at Bandicoot continue to grow."

Leeni T 2025

Leeni T 2025

Ceramics graduate from the Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics in Estonia. Leeni joined us for a six-week Erasmus+ programme internship in July, delving deep into the world of ceramics. She dug clay straight from the earth, mixed and tested glazes from rocks and wood-fired with an amazing team. She also learned to handle all sorts of tools and machines, big and small. "The joy and gratitude are beyond words. I can never thank you enough for your guidance and generosity."

Kil.n. It Ceramic Exchange Residency Incredible bandicoot community - thank you a million! I’ve now had some time to digest the residency time @bandicootpottery and boy, what a time I had! I just want to thank the incredible people I met there and the involved community! I had the privilege of being a part of that for 14 days It meant a lot to me as an emerging artist to connect with other wood-fired potters but also on a personal level.

Jen K 2022-25

Jen K 2022-25

Bandicoot Pottery student/volunteer. Reflecting on the latest firing (as a beginner at age 57, my 6th firing in total and my 4th kiln) just want to pay tribute to the master potter who introduced me to his amazing (beast•9) of a kiln and to woodfiring. Dan Lafferty @bandicootpottery. Like all great teachers, he never patronises or condescends but has always gently encouraged me during firing to be the best I could be in and around the kiln.
